Paramount ruler of Ikorodu, Oba Kabiru Adewale Shotobi (Adegorushen V) on Friday, 20th of May 2022, visited the Oshodi Arts promenade.
The Ayangburen of Ikorodu Kingdom ably chaperoned by his council of Baales took an extensive tour of the 2nd largest art collection centre in Nigeria, which is based in Ikorodu.
Wowed by the masterwork that housed over 17,000 art anthologies that range from paintings, sculptures, ceramics and many more, Oba Kabir Adewale Shotobi in his joyous reaction, proclaimed the Art collection centre a blessing not only to the entire Ikorodu division but to Nigeria at large.
Observing art enthusiasts being educated by the sculpture Centre, the King reacted, “I’ve been hearing about this art Centre in Ikorodu, and today, I decided to come myself and have a first hand visual of what the Centre harbors”
“It is more than an art Centre, this is an institution because it doesn’t only train students aspiring to be art professionals, it entrusts them to be established in the industry, created joy opportunities in the process”
“We have so many youths who’ve not gotten to the crossroad of making life determinations, this sector has a lot to offer and channeling the inklings of youngsters towards the creative realm like this is a good niche cultivated by this organization”. “I must give kudos to (Dr Oshodi Paul) the CEO of this organisation, and I want to let him know that the door is officially opened for him to work with our office on every necessary measure to help develop the ed Ikorodu division via his medium”

Dr Oshodi Seyi Paul (CEO of Oshodi Arts Gallery), in excitement after taking the king on a substantial tour through the different studio sessions of the gallery, elucidated the concept of the centre to the king.

The King was subsequently presented with an honorary painting gift of himself courtesy of Oshodi Arts Gallery to commemorate his visit to the gallery.
